The Medical Group Management Association’s most recent MGMA Stat poll asked health care professionals how their organizations recruited doctors and three quarters (75% ) responded that their organizations utilized internal assets. Looking more closely at how these practices recruited, over a third of the respondents (34%) indicated they used an internal recruiter, physicians had the responsibility in 29%, and staff recruited physicians for the organization in 12% of the respondents.
An external recruiter was used to recruit physicians by just over 10%% of the respondents. Additionally, 7% of respondents indicated they used another process, 2 were unsure.
The poll was conducted on February 27, 2017 and reported responses from 1,260 administrators.
