The Medical Group Management Association’s most recent MGMA Stat poll asked health care professionals how their organizations recruited doctors and three quarters (75% ) responded that their organizations utilized internal assets.  Looking more closely at how these practices recruited, over a third of the respondents (34%) indicated they used an internal recruiter, physicians had the responsibility in 29%, and staff recruited physicians for the organization in 12% of the respondents.

An external recruiter was used to recruit physicians by just over 10%% of the respondents.  Additionally, 7% of respondents indicated they used another process, 2 were unsure.

The poll was conducted on February 27, 2017 and reported responses from 1,260 administrators.
MGMA Stat is a national poll that addresses practice management topics, the impact of new legislation, and related topics. Participation is open to all healthcare leaders.
