Medical Group Management Association’s MGMA Stat poll asked healthcare professionals to describe the area where their organizations were most innovative. Results show that innovation is nearly evenly split among patient centered care, care coordination, technology use and patient flow.
Over 20 percent of the respondents stated they were most innovative in their use of technology, 20 percent of respondents reported their organization were most innovative in care coordination or patient centered care. Additionally, 19 percent stated they were most innovative in patient flow and 10 percent acknowledged that telemedicine was their most innovative area. To improve patient service and reduce administrative costs, poll respondents reported innovations in the areas of electronic patient check-in, use of patient portals and electronic tablets to record patient information, and capturing information from wearable devices.
The poll was conducted on May 4, 2017 with 1066 total responses.
