The Medical Group Management Association’s MGMA Stat poll asked healthcare professionals to gauge their organizations' financial performance in the past year. Not surprisingly, approximately one third reported their performance met budget goals, a third exceeded their goals, and a third fell short.
The poll conducted on January 17, 2017 reported information from over 1000 healthcare professionals on their FY16 budgets. Specifically, 30.46 percent reported they fell short of budget, while a slightly lower 28.60 percent exceeded their budget forecast and 27.23 percent were on target. Perhaps more surprisingly, 5.68 percent responded they did not have a budget, 4.41 percent were unsure, and 3.62 percent noted that the question was not applicable.
