This paper focuses on the millennial physician, specifically, who they are and how to recruit and retain them in a healthcare organization. Due to the increasing number of millennials entering the workforce, healthcare organizations need to better understand the expectations of this generation and how to work with them. This paper focuses on the personal and professional characteristics of the Millennial physician along with their expectations. Understanding the millennial generation is especially important in order to recruit and retain a millennial physician who has a different set of characteristics than older generations. While there will be many changes in the healthcare field over the next few years, the emergence of more Millennial physicians in the practice setting will be one of the larges challenges Practice Administrators will encounter.
