Currently the independent medical practice is experiencing double digit growth on an annual basis.  The practice currently has over 60 locations and is operating with a low cost, high quality strategy when it comes to delivering care to patients.

The administrative team has been asked to come up with a business plan that will allow the scheduling of patients to be centralized into one location.  The goal of this initiative is to gain operational efficiency and improve patient satisfaction.

Acting on physician leadership’s plan the administrative leadership team (ALT) is proposing the consolidation of the scheduling process into one location.  This will move staff from office locations to the site selected for the new department.  The ALT believes that this project will reduce the number of empty slots in a physician’s schedule and increase access to all primary care physicians.  The latter being a factor in driving down healthcare costs.

The Board of Directors and all senior leadership of the organization are on board with the project as summarized.  Further work is being done to secure a site for this new department.

This business plan will give the Board, senior leadership and staff a roadmap to complete the project.  This will include the space requirements, capital needs, financial impact as well as any marketing needed to ensure the success of the plan.
