This paper emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive approach when evaluating staffing requirements in a medical practice. Historic staffing models, if left unchecked, can hinder innovation and productivity. It is necessary for all levels in an organization to work together in a constant evaluation of processes and people. An ideal staffing model is, thus, only valid until a more efficient process have been identified. Research revealed factors such as communication, culture, and lean processes all play a large role in optimizing staff efficiencies.
