On November 30, 2021, the MGMA Government Affairs team hosted a GovChat Live informational session to discuss the surprise billing and patient price transparency requirements as part of the No Surprises Act.
The No Surprises Act created requirements for certain out-of-network providers related to balance billing and established new price transparency requirements for all providers to ensure patients understand the cost of care. Many of these new requirements take effect Jan. 1, 2022.
