    Owen J. Dahl, MBA, FALCHE, CHBC, LSSMBB, is a medical practice management consultant with more than 40 years of experience in consulting and managing medical practices. Mr. Dahl has had recent engagements in the areas of revenue cycle management; EMR implementation; operational assessments; implementation of Lean and Six Sigma principles; practice start-ups; integration of hospital and physician programs; and staff training in the areas of management and efficiency, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, organizational behavior, and information systems implementation.

    Mr. Dahl has presented at several state and national MGMA meetings including the Lean Six Sigma series for White, Yellow, and Green belt certificates. He has also presented at the Pri-Med Conference 2009, the Association of Otolaryngology Administrators, the Association of Dermatology Administrators/Managers, oncology managers, U.S. Psychiatric Conference, the Assembly of Hematology and Oncology Administrators, and the Towards an Electronic Patient Record (TEPR) conference, among others.

    He has authored the books: Think Business! Medical Practice Quality, Efficiency, Profits (2007); The Medical Practice Disaster Planning Workbook (2008); and co-authored Lean Six Sigma for the Medical Practice: Improving Profitability by Improving Processes (2009); and has written several articles and been interviewed for numerous journals.

    Currently, Mr. Dahl is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston, Clear Lake, and is conducting a distance-learning program at the University of New Orleans. Mr. Dahl has also taught at Southern Illinois University, Our Lady of Holy Cross College, and Loyola University.
