    Doral Davis-Jacobsen, MBA, FACMPE, is a managing consultant with over 20 years of experience in healthcare business process improvement, focusing on next generation managed care contracting, revenue cycle, benchmarking, operations optimization, quality initiatives, financial modeling, and project management. On the provider side, she has experience managing clinics and billing operations for large practices. On the payer side, she has experience with negotiating contracts and working with a management company administering risk products in an IPA environment. Ms. Davis-Jacobsen regularly assists providers in managed care contract negotiations with major payers, resulting in favorable, collaborative, value-based arrangements. She is a creative problem-solver with sophisticated leadership skills adept at resolving complex issues.

    As a healthcare advisor, Ms. Davis-Jacobsen successfully worked with a large medical practice on revenue cycle efficiency and benchmarking to improve collections by $2.8 million in less than a year. She also worked with a small medical practice (four surgeons) on revenue cycle optimization and improved physician compensation by 35% within two years. Ms. Davis-Jacobsen assisted a hospital with revenue cycle reengineering and improved operations and financial strength of the organization significantly. She also piloted the first Real Time Claim Adjudication project utilizing front-end processes which increased time-of-service collections by 50%. This cutting-edge process implementation has also received wide publicity from such publications as Modern Healthcare, Radiology Today, and The Journal of Medical Practice Management.

    Ms. Davis-Jacobsen has a bachelor of health services from Florida Atlantic University and an MBA from Webster University in Denver. Ms. Davis-Jacobsen has authored numerous articles on medical practice revenue cycle, managed care contracting, and payment reform. In 2016, she co-authored MGMA’s book Transitioning to Alternative Payment Models: A Guide to Next Generation Managed Care Contracting.
