The purpose of this paper is to review the importance of strong ethical standards in occupational medicine due to the unique employer relationship. The healthcare industry has focused on the patient first message for many years. In occupational medicine, the employer often presses for their needs and concerns to be considered before patient care. This paper will review concerns of employers in relation to occupational injuries. Additionally, this paper will review the importance of ethical decision-making of all involved in the occupational medicine industry.
