MGMA is committed to working with state leaders and legislative liaisons on promoting advocacy efforts to best serve their organizations and impact state and federal policy. 2024-to-date has been a year of significant evolution for many of the State MGMA organizations. Eighteen states transitioned to chapters and recruited new legislative volunteers. Regardless of affiliate vs. chapter status, the advocacy partnership between National and State MGMA has long represented a mutually beneficial relationship, with the national organization focused on federal policy and the state organizations on government issues specific to their state. For more information, you can read about Defining Your Role as a State Legislative Liaison.

To further the relationship between state and national, below are some upcoming opportunities for you as a state Legislative Liaison:

    • “Mid-Year Washington Policy Update” webinar July 25 – We encourage you to learn more about federal issues of interest to medical group practice so we may work together on grassroots initiatives. As a national member, you have access to this important content, but we are also providing our State Affiliates and Chapter members with access as well. This is one of MGMA’s largest webinars each year and we anticipate your members will find it to be helpful and valuable. If someone from your State MGMA has not done so yet, please send your members this link to include their name and email address. We will use that information provide them with login instructions.  This process will avoid the need for your members to sign up for an mgma.com account.

    • Legislative Liaison call early Sept. (calendar invite to follow later). We typically hold 3-4 of these a year.

Please note the dates of the MGMA conferences as you plan your 2024-2025 state conferences.
