Rebecca S. Dean, M.A., FACMPE - Practice Administrator, Tanana Valley Clinic Orthopedic and Sportsmedicine Fairbanks

Rebecca Dean is Practice Administrator at Tanana Valley Clinic Orthopedic and Sportsmedicine Fairbanks, an Orthopaedic Care and Surgical Practice Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska. Tanana Valley Clinic is Alaska’s largest Multi Specialty Clinic and a division of Foundation Health Partners.   Rebecca is also a Healthcare Executive Consultant and principal of Dean & Associates. Ms. Dean holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Fellow Status in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Rebecca holds the distinction of being the First Alaskan to attain Fellow Status from the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 1994. Rebecca has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare management in all aspects of practice operations, efficiency, governance and leadership.  Rebecca lectures on Leadership, Governance, Business Operations, Strategic Planning, Risk Management/Compliance, and Contracting at the national level.  

Rebecca served as Chair, American College of Medical Practice Executives 2009. Rebecca is Past-President of Western Section Medical Group Management Association and served on the National MGMA Board.  Rebecca served as a member of the original MGMA National Expert Panel for Role Delineation for Healthcare Executives and as a member of the ACMPE Body of Knowledge Expert Panel, and on the panel for the Update for the Body of Knowledge. She is Past President of the MGMA Ambulatory Surgery Management Society, Past President of Alaska MGMA, Past Chair of the National ACMPE Exam Committee, and has served on the National MGMA LRC/Education Committee, MGMA Legislative Affairs Committee, as well as additional MGMA Assemblies/Societies and National Committee Leadership positions.

In addition to her Medical Practice and Consulting responsibilities, Rebecca has served on several Boards for national business industries to include Airline and Insurance Corporations. Rebecca served on the American Alliance of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE) Board of Directors and currently serves on the Fairbanks Alaska Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, as well as various committees and task forces and is an active member of the Women Business Leaders of the US Healthcare Industry Foundation (WBL) .  

Rebecca enjoys traveling and the quest for knowledge and understanding of other cultures.  Rebecca has lead prior journeys for Physicians and Healthcare Executives to China, Tibet, Cuba, Australia and New Zealand.
